A group has been helping with the community project - clearing non-native trees, creating pond areas and seating and currently helping to construct a log cabin as the headquarters for many groups within the community to use. The group have also been working to achieve the John Muir Award as much of the work in the woods involves exploration, conservation and sharing. We are proud to accept such a lovely award and look forward to getting our "Outdoor Classroom" built in the garden to house it!
Spotting a fern shadow as we were transporting carved logs this week.
On Tuesday, we took the wilting flower arrangements from Prize-giving night and cut them up for the compost.
Wednesday lunchtime, we discovered the siphon hose had been pushed inside the water butt. Sophia's hand was not quite small enough to retrieve it!
We tried several things but in the end, a small "litter picker" did the trick!
Meanwhile Connorhan, Kyle and Mr Macfarlane started assembling the marquee to prepare for our Garden Party next week.
Mmmm....one of those jobs where you need ten pairs of hands!
On corner of the tarpaulin just wouldn't fit over the frame but we managed to get everything stable in the end.
On Thursday morning, some pupils from the S2 class brought up wheelbarrows of bark to refresh the paths near the shed.
At lunchtime, DiGGers re-staked the sunflowers and they have ALL grown really tall! Dale ties one in carefully.

...6, 5, 4...
